We sit down with David Allan Staral, the Canna Vita managing director for this exclusive Q&A

Q. What is Canna Vita?

A. Canna Vita is a new retail shop in downtown Kenosha that’s dedicated to providing a wide range of wellness products, with a focus on CBD and other cannabinoids. The shop itself is a calming, relaxed environment, and we want new customers to feel welcome and comfortable. We know that people can buy CBD from places like a gas station or convenience store, but not all CBD is the same, and there is a plethora of other cannabinoids and methods of use that are truly groundbreaking. We pride ourselves on staying innovative, carrying the most advanced products that utilize the latest technologies to give our customers the effects they are looking for. A major part of our philosophy is to go beyond the retail aspect, because we feel that the most important thing is properly educating our customers.

Q. How many different types of CBD products do you carry?
A. Some of the more popular CBD products that people are familiar with are edibles, especially gummies. There are so many more kinds of edibles — lollipops, chocolates, olive oils, water enhancers, teas, coffees, and other beverages. We have a very wide range of tinctures, capsules, inhalables, and vapableliquids and cartridges in all strengths. Our topicals, or bath and body products, cover a wide range, so you could soak with a bath bomb or use a salve to help relieve muscle pain. Finally, we have a great selection of CBD just for dogs and cats. We also have exotic cannabinoids like, CBN, CBG, and Delta 8 THC. Delta 8 is a new, rare cannabinoid with an uplifting feeling but without the anxiety and paranoia sometimes associated with THC.

With such a wide range of CBD products, can you tell us a few of your favorites? I like to start off with a CBD tincture, it helps keep my pain levels low throughout the day. I also like to use a Delta 8 THC cartridge during breaks to clear my mind and ease the tension. At night, I prefer to take a hot bath with CBD bath bombs and eat a Delta 8 gummy to ensure a great night’s sleep.

Q. What is one misconception about CBD products?
A. That they don’t work. The method of use, dosage and the type of cannabinoids play a huge part in ensuring you get the effects you’re looking for. Our team asks the right questions to help dial in the perfect formula for you. Also, there is misconception that since this is derived from a cannabis plant it can get you high or you won’t pass a drug test. That’s just not true.

Q. How did you get your start in this business?
A. We have been working with hemp products for years as a manufacturer and distributor, but noticed many people were not being properly educated on how to use the products to best fit their needs. We wanted to create a place that we felt was lacking in the community and we feel that Canna Vita will have a positive impact on many lives.

Q.What made you choose Downtown Kenosha for your location?
First and foremost, Kenosha is our home! Not only do we feel that the local community can benefit from what we have to offer, but we also want to support the efforts of growth in our great little city.

Q. What makes your CBD products stand out in this over saturated market?
A. All of our products are third-party lab tested for purity and consistency. We utilize products from full flower all the way to isolated cannabinoids for a wide variety of options. From local vendors to top national brands, we have cherry picked the finest products for our customers, taking the guesswork out of it.

Q. Why would or should people use CBD? And what mg?
A. CBD and cannabinoids can help with pain management, anxiety, sleep issues, seizures, skin conditions, and many other ailments. Dosages differ depending on the person and reason for use. Q. Where does your CBD come from? Locally grown?
A. We work with local farmers, extractors and vendors from around the USA.

Q. Can you tell us a little about your CBD for pets?
A. We offer pet products that are all-natural, human grade, and packed with other great ingredients like wild Alaskan fish oil to best support your furry family. In pets, CBD can reduce anxiety, pain, inflammation, seizures, and more — very similar to its benefits in humans.

Q. Can you tell us a little about the juice bar that will be opening soon in your location?
A. We are very excited to bring Squeez Juice Bar to Kenosha! Their menu fits perfectly with our goals of wellbeing. They offer freshly made açaí bowls and smoothies, a wide range of juices, juice cleanse packages, and grab-n-go food items. You can get bowls and smoothies made with or without CBD and other healthy ‘boosts.’

Q. What else will you be offering customers?
A. We have so many great things planned, but unfortunately opening during a pandemic means that some of those things will have to wait. We’ve always intended to offer educational sessions on CBD and other fun wellness classes, so we will begin with an educational series online instead of in person.
